Help GRuB get food to community members who need it! Sponsor a CSA share for a local senior citizen.

We're raising funds to be able to offer free 10-week CSA shares to local low-income seniors and low-income families with young children. The cost of providing CSA shares for our Senior CSA and Families on the Farm programs is $8500. Help us give away free boxes of produce during our growing season! Making a financial contribution at a level that's comfortable you makes a huge difference! For reference, here's the break-down of the cost:

- $30 sponsors a share for one week

- $300 sponsors a CSA share for the whole 10 week program.

Each CSA Share that gets sponsored will add a petal to our sunflower! Help us fill up the whole flower!

In 2017 we piloted two new programs that aimed to distribute our food directly to people who may have a hard time accessing fresh, affordable sustainably grown food. Our Senior CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) enrolled 20 low income seniors, in partnership with South Senior Services, who were distributed bags of fresh produce and flowers for 10 weeks in the summer. People were thrilled to receive fresh food and many said it greatly impacted the healthiness of their diet. Similarly, our Families on the Farm Program was a weekly cohort of 5 low-income families that came to the farm with their young kids and received a bag of produce.   The program consisted of an hour of programming, including stories, games, tastings, educational walks and farm work that changed every week. The kids especially like harvesting carrots and potatoes. The mom’s expressed that it made their food budget last longer each month and that their kids loved getting their hands dirty working on the farm. We are hoping to host 10 families this summer.
