Description

We live amidst vibrant communities of cedar, fir, hemlock, pine, and spruce. These trees hold rich cultural traditions and teachings. They also play a powerful role in our environment, shaping the weather and the plant communities beneath them. In this interactive workshop, you will gain skills in tree identification and explore their uses for food, medicine, and traditional technologies. We will make respiratory steams, forest bathing salts, tree lip balm, and more. Take home a curriculum that is adaptable for kindergarteners through adults with lesson plans, an identification key, tree matching cards, Salish stories, and recipes. Taught by Elise Krohn and Elizabeth Campbell.
